Hungry for success
Shark Motorsport was founded in 1989 by Steve McMahon, it began by concentrating on the rebuilding and tuning 2 stroke engines. In 1998 it moved on to have chassis manufactured and homologated for both Cadet and TKM classes. Sales and development of the chassis went well though out 2000. At the start of the 2001 season Daniel Rowbottom tested the new  Shark Tiger M Cadet chassis and decided to compete with it for the following season. Daniel had great success with the kart in many top national events, Champions of the Future 4th overall, winner of  Super 1 series and  PFI  Club Champion. Since them Shark have expanded into other classes of karting including the Rotax series of  karts.

During the 2002 & 2003 season's Shark Motorsport as a team and as a chassis supplier competed at the highest level in UK karting with good results. The staff are looking forward to this coming season as they are again running as a team and as a chassis supplier at a high level of competition.

During 2003 a retail unit was opened at Unit 2, Helix Business Park, Camberley, Surrey. There they can supply new and used karts, spares, components and many accessories. The company continues to grow due to it's reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

During 2004 we ran a four driver team in Super One Comer Cadet with final places of 13th, 15th, 16th and 19th out of 35 drivers. In Stars of Tomorrow we had two drivers who finished 13th and 15th. We also had two drivers in the NKRA southern championship. Brothers Oliver Denis driving in Comer Cadet and older brother Daniel driving in Mini-max both won their classes. In the grand final Oliver took the win but Dan could only managed 9th. At Club level Zak Price took the Forest Edge Comer Cadet Championship win as did Shaun Pirie at Camberley, both had good finish's at other clubs.

During 2005 we had a team of five drivers entered in Stars of Tomorrow. Shaun Pirie picked up the No. 6 plate in Comer Cadet. Michael McMahon in his first year in Rotax Mini Max finished a good 10th and Daniel Denis 15th in Rotax Junior. Shaun also collected the No. S7 in the Super One championship and went on to finish 3rd in the Renault Champion of Champions. In the NKRA (Southern) championship James Webb was runner up in Rotax Mini Max class. At Club level Zak Price was been crowned Comer Cadet Champion at Forest Edge and Camberley. Marc Othen was Champion in Junior Max and Matthew Hibberd in Mini Max also at Camberley KC. Whilst Josh Fry became the Comer Cadet Champion at Clay Pigeon powered by a Steve McMahon maintained W60 Engine.

It was a very sad ending to a good years hard racing with the announcement of Guy Tipping's death. Guy was a hard working member of our team and will be sadly missed.

Due to circumstances we will not running a team in 2006 in any major championships but we understand that Shaun Pirie will be competing in Super One driving a Mini-Max and Hannah Pym is competing in Super One and Stars of Tomorrow as a Cadet. We wish them good luck and will offer them our full support.
